Sisterhood one day is a one day intensive assembly style intervention event hosted for high school girls struggling with fighting, bullying, low self-esteem, gang involvement and many more obstacles to their success in life and school. We believe that there is a ONE DAY for each of these girls, that if they could have vision for it, that it just might change the way they treat themselves, treat others and treat TODAY.
Each of us have things that we’ve experienced, achieved or witnessed that given our own stories and struggles we might not have believed would one day happen- BUT THEY DID! We cast hope for those one day moments girls might miss because they are responding to TODAY out of places of fear, insecurity and lack. Our goal is to help move them from responding to fears, insecurities, pains, angers and hurts that ail them today.
The reality is the future they are building starts with the very decisions they make today. By focusing on empathy, understanding how our stories affect our decisions and the way we live, and empowering them to take ownership of their our own narratives- we empower young women to live differently, respond differently and to ultimately be for one another, instead of against one another.
